Bad Religion ist eine US - amerikanische Punkband, die 1980 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, gegründet wurde. Die Band ist bekannt für ihre melodischen Hardcore - und Politpunk - Songs sowie ihre kritischen Texte, die sich mit Themen wie Religion, Politik, Gesellschaft, Medien und Wissenschaft auseinandersetzen. Die Gründungsmitglieder sind Greg Graffin (Gesang, Keyboard), Brett Gurewitz (Gitarre), Jay Bentley (Bass) und Jay Ziskrout (Schlagzeug). Ihr erstes Album, "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?", erschien 1982 und gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Alben des frühen US - Westküsten - Punks. Ein markantes Merkmal der Band ist ihr "Crossbuster" - Logo, das ein durchgestrichenes Kreuz zeigt. Bad Religion hat sich durch ihre energiegeladenen Konzerte und ihre mehrstimmigen Gesänge einen Namen gemacht.
