Meat Loaf, geboren als Marvin Lee Aday und später bekannt als Michael Lee Aday, war ein ikonischer US - amerikanischer Rocksänger und Schauspieler, der für seine kraftvollen und theatralischen Konzertauftritte berühmt wurde. Seine Musikkarriere umfasste die beeindruckende Alben - Trilogie "Bat Out of Hell", die weltweit über 100 Millionen Mal verkauft wurde. Für seinen Hit "I´d Do Anything for Love (But I Won´t Do That)" aus dem Jahr 1993 erhielt er einen Grammy. Meat Loaf war auch als Schauspieler tätig und spielte in über 65 Filmen mit, darunter in der Rolle des Eddie in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975) und als Robert Paulsen in "Fight Club" (1999). Sein Leben war ebenso farbenfroh wie seine Karriere; er heiratete 1979 Leslie G. Edmonds und hatte zwei Töchter, von denen eine, Amanda Aday, ebenfalls Schauspielerin wurde. Sein Künstlername entstand in seiner Jugend, als er von seinem Vater "Meat" genannt wurde und später von einem Football - Trainer "Meat Loaf" getauft wurde. Er änderte seinen Vornamen von Marvin zu Michael im Jahr 1983, um sich von den Spötteleien seiner Jugend zu distanzieren. Meat Loaf verstarb am 20. Januar 2022 im Alter von 74 Jahren in Nashville, Tennessee. Sein Vermächtnis als Musiker und Entertainer lebt in seinen Songs und Filmen weiter.
