Fiona Apple, geboren als Fiona Apple Maggart am 13. September 1977 in New York City, ist eine US - amerikanische Singer - Songwriterin und Pianistin. Sie ist die Tochter des Schauspielers Brandon Maggart und der Sängerin Diane McAfee. Ihre Schwester Amber tritt als Sängerin unter dem Namen Maude Maggart auf. Fiona Apple erhielt in ihrer Kindheit Klavierunterricht und begann bereits im Alter von acht Jahren, ihre eigenen Lieder zu komponieren. Ihre musikalische Karriere begann 1996 mit einem Plattenvertrag bei Epic Records.
