Van Morrison (geboren am 31. August 1945 in Belfast, Nordirland) ist ein legendärer nordirischer Musiker, Sänger und Komponist. Bekannt als "Van the Man", hat er eine beeindruckende Karriere seit den 1960er Jahren. Er begann als Frontmann der Band Them, bekannt für Hits wie "Gloria" und "Here Comes the Night". Seine Solokarriere begann mit dem Hit "Brown Eyed Girl" (1967). Sein Album "Astral Weeks" (1968) wird oft als eines der besten Alben aller Zeiten angesehen. Weitere erfolgreiche Alben wie "Moondance" (1970) und "Tupelo Honey" (1971) festigten seinen Ruf als einer der einflussreichsten Künstler.
